  • About the Position:

    This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, functions pertaining to:

    • Best methods development and cost reduction leadership
    • Process improvement with the intent of ingraining a culture of continuous improvement within an operation
    • A solid understanding of quality management, lean philosophies, Six Sigma, and work measurement and accountability
    • The ability to present data and solutions to Fortune 500 clients in a way that commands their confidence
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Leading functional areas and making decisions based on LEAP principles: Lead with humility and respect; Empower every individual; Act with purpose; Perform and create value
    • Building teams that act with honesty to instill trust with all team members
    • Support and sustain the culture and principles around Kenco Operating System (KOS)
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform under pressure
    • Influence the functional leadership on KOS principles, processes, and tools as defined in the implementation plan
    • Creating fact based organization by gathering data and making fact based decisions in alignment with corporate goals and objectives
    • Provides on-going education in systematic, data-driven business improvement philosophies/methods on all employee levels
    • Promote continued learning/education throughout facilities
    • Use communication skills in written, verbal, and presentations (of all types of audiences); familiarity with group specific topics in such a way to present for customers
    • Demonstrate self accountability
    • Coach/mentor and deliver training at all levels of an organization, including statistical analysis, quality, leadership, and change management topics
    • Develop best methods for various customer profiles (appliance, each pick, case pick, etc.)
    • Create and maintain KPIs/metrics associated with logistics
    • Properly define project scope from internal/external customers and be able to accurately communicate project goals, resource time required, total cost, cost/benefit analysis, and delivery schedule
    • Create and maintain budgets for individual projects
    • Develop and support action plans to meet or exceed departmental KPIs
    • Strive to continually improve the specific programs in area of responsibility with collaboration from customers and colleagues

  • Education/Relevant Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline from a four-year college or university
    • Operational Excellence Engineer (KOS Engineer) – 6+ years experience, LSSGB Certification

    • Marketing/Sales Communication – must gain prospect confidence in your grasp of their issues and needs
    • Proven success interacting with the client (relationship building)

    • Proactive and ambitious – ability to create and execute action items to include items that may not be on Gantt chart or “to-do” list
    • Ability to identify critical paths and execute (these may change weekly)
    • Involvement with senior management both internally and externally

    • Strong listening skills

    Operational Excellence Engineer (KOS Engineer)

    • Assists the site KOS Leader and Site Manager in development of the KOS implementation plan
    • Facilitates and coaches Lean Six Sigma focused KOS training
    • Will manage multiple KOS deployments on an ongoing basis
    • Coach and mentor enterprise on application of standard work, both at the process level and within the management functions
    • Influence the functional leadership on KOS principles, processes, and tools as defined in the implementation plan
    • Partner with enterprise leaders to develop and complete KOS deployment and action plans, plan and complete maturity assessments and phase gate reviews
    • Share knowledge with other KOS Leaders and teams across the enterprise for support and continued update of the latest KOS enhancements and updates
    • Coaches and mentors Site Managers and leadership in KOS principles and activities
    • Flexible application of KOS concepts to meet business needs
    • Leading detailed process analysis using statistical tools, both simple and complex
    • Technical competencies in:  Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Process Management, ISO, Change Management, and advanced statistical techniques
    • Experience coaching and delivering training at all levels of an organization
    • Must be results oriented, a change agent, with the ability to interface with all levels and areas of an organization, establish close working relationships, and build consensus for chosen solutions
    • Strong interest to teach complex statistical, quality, leadership, and change management topics is essential
    • Still in coaching/mentoring in on-the-job application of new skills is critical
    • Experience using appropriate statistical software including Minitab, Crystal Ball, Statistic, SPC XL, SPSS, etc.
