Kenco, one of the most well-respected names in the third-party logistics industry and a major
Chattanooga employer, announces a new phase of its corporate-wide wellness program, “Walking for Better Health.”
According to Jim Kennedy, III, Kenco’s owner, “Our just-concluded four-month ‘Boot Camp’ pilot program in
Chattanooga was an enormous success. Participants scheduled regular workout sessions, led and monitored by professional trainers. (TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS, COUNTING ALL 28 PARTICIPANTS, WAS AN ASTOUNDING 427 lbs!).
“We’re so pleased that the
Chattanooga program got off to such a great start that we’re rolling out a new wellness program to our corporate-wide family of 4,000 employees across the country.”
Irma Velazquez, Kenco Management Services Benefits Supervisor, explained, “The company is very happy to announce that we have 922 Kenco employees enrolled in the “Walking for Better Health” program, triple what we expected. We are excited to see such high participation and hope that everyone achieves his or her goals. The program includes pedometers, walking logs, and weekly participation incentive drawings, and is scheduled to begin on October 12, 2009.”
Mr. Kennedy concluded by inviting employees of all Kenco affiliates to think seriously about the company’s wellness initiatives. “We are firmly committed to helping everyone get into better shape, and have committed substantial human and financial resources, as well as facilities, to make this a winning program for everyone.”
