Drives industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forks, and order picking equipment with elevated platforms to move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Promotes safety first and foremost.
Moves levers and presses pedals to drive lift truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
Positions forks under or around the product to be moved and transports the load to the designated area, bin or trailer.
Unloads and stacks customer product by raising and lowering the lifting device.
Operate order picker that elevates the operator so must be comfortable with heights and able to stand for long periods in the process of operating equipment.
Performs daily inspection of equipment to be used at the start of each shift. Reports all problems with equipment to supervision immediately.
Changes the battery in the lift truck as needed.
Stores in customer product per supervisor’s instructions.
Loads customer product for shipping per supervisor’s instructions and customer requests.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education/Relevant Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
All industrial lift truck operators must participate in and receive OSHA training, certification,and license before being allowed to operate company equipment.
