OPERATIONS MANAGER - LIVE OAK, TX

About The Opportunity

This is a high volume distribution operation with a sophisticated warehouse management system, supported by RF in a real-time environment.  The operation has two separate warehouse locations consisting of 420,000 square feet of space that ships and receives a monthly volume totaling approximately 100 million pounds and 2,315 shipments.  This position reports directly to the General Manager.

About The Position

• Provides leadership and direction to 6 supervisors, providing 24/7 coverage.
• Ensures operation functions safely and with highest quality performance, enforcing safety and quality procedures.
• Leads and develops the organization, analyzing and defining key areas for opportunity.
• Ensures day to day operational coordination of product flow with customer.
• Meets key performance indicators and other data sources.
• Monitors production schedules, prepares manpower requirements, interprets company policies, schedules and manages equipment maintenance responsibilities.
• Evaluates workflow processes and related issues, performing analysis to identify needed changes for improvement.
• Ability to effectively implement identified improvements.

Qualifications

• Six Sigma experience or exposure, knowledge of advanced distribution/WMS systems, RF and bar coding. 
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Familiarity with quality tools and systems.
• Mathematical skills, computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. 

Education/Relevant Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in management, logistics, or engineering, with 3-5 years experience in logistics or manufacturing management and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in a 50+ employee logistics operation
