Facility Manager - Allentown, PA

About the Opportunity

This individual carries the responsibility of acting as liaison between Kenco and the customer.  The individual ensures policies and procedures of both companies are followed by management and associates at the warehouse.

About the Position

  • Coordinates with the management team on a daily basis.
  • Troubleshoots problems that occur in the facility with the Management team.
  • Provides a healthy employee relation environment for all associates.
  • Ensures all Safety and Environmental procedures are followed.  Maintains high standards of housekeeping and sanitation to ensure an orderly workplace.
  • Ensures all jobs are performed in accordance with defined procedures and work instructions contained in the procedure manual.
  • Reviews and follows up on paperwork completion, i.e. 1st Reports of Injury, associate raises, etc.
  • Oversees company’s productivity, the quality of work performance, and damage control.
  • Plans for organizational changes and presents these to associates.
  • Responsible for the hiring of associates.
  • Responsible for the Performance Appraisal of the Management Team.
  • Oversees the financial and budgetary aspects of the warehouse, and conducts financial reviews.
  • Aids in the proper flow of the chain of command
  • Supervises the management team.  Evaluates management team performances for the purposes of continued employment and/or adjustment in pay.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • To perform this job successfully, individual must have good interpersonal skills, be self-directed and motivated, readily assume ownership of facility and drive toward total customer satisfaction.   
  • Works well under pressure with accuracy and follows up on mistakes to ensure customer satisfaction.        
  • Ability to read procedures and work instructions with understanding.  
  • Basic understanding of computers and/or the willingness to learn is required.  
  • Forklift and material handling equipment skills are not required but helpful.  
  • Must possess the leadership skills needed to assess the workforce issues on a daily basis and provide direction.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Education/Relevant Experience

College graduate preferred or one to three years related supervisory experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
