About the
Opportunity
This person will report to the Manager of Logistics Engineering. The role of Logistics/Industrial Engineer at Kenco is to be a catalyst for change and bring about continuous and sustained improvement. The measurement of success in this position will be based on qualitative and quantitative review of the impact in the areas of:
- Best Methods development and cost reduction leadership
- Project Management: new facility start-up
- Advancement of Six Sigma within Kenco’s organization (training the tools)
- Rate Making capability within packaging and warehousing functions
- The ability to present data and solutions to Fortune 500 clients in a way that commands their confidence
- Travel is involved
About the Position
The successful candidate must possess the technical ability to perform the following internal consulting services to the satisfaction of our clients:
- Process mapping
- Value stream mapping
- Process design
- Methods development
- Space planning and layout design (ability to use CAD)
- Inventory & slotting assessments
- Performance standards/metrics
- ROI analysis
- Project management
- MS Project or Gantt chart experience
- Operational audits
- Customized training (performance coaching, Lean enterprise, Six Sigma)
- Additionally, the successful candidate will possess the following interpersonal skills and other abilities:
· Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, email, etc.)
· Proven success interacting with the client (relationship building)
· Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills are required
· Proactive and ambitious. Be able to create and execute action items that might not be on Gantt chart or “to-do” list
· Ability to identify critical paths and execute (these may change weekly)
· Involvement with senior management both internally and externally
· Ability to represent Kenco’s company vision and initiatives through demonstrated personal character and work ethic
· Ability to make appropriate delegation decisions
Education/Relevant Experience
Industrial Engineering degree required along with 3-5 years experience in Industrial Engineering in warehousing and logistics environments (preferred)
