About the Opportunity

The supervisor ensures that employees meet set standards and comply with company policies and Best Practices, applicable laws, safety and OSHA standards.  Supervises and coordinates activities of workers concerned with delivering, ordering, receiving, storing, picking, loading, inventory control, and other warehouse functions.  Schedules employees as required to meet daily business needs.  Please note:  must be available to work 1^st or 2^nd shift

About the Position

• Assigns duties, examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to standard operating procedures.
• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
• Plans layout of warehouse and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
• Trains employees on care and preservation of equipment received, stored and shipped; methods, maintenance and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining and shipping stock, and related issues.
• Communicates the advantages and audits progress of the Business Improvement Plan (BIP) and Labor Management Program.  Works closely with his or her management team to ensure implementation of Best Practices in the facility.   Involves all levels in process improvement, including work procedures, work schedules, and workflow. 
• Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures in order to maintain accurate inventory, damage free on-time shipments, and recommends remedial actions for non-compliance.
• Traces history of items to determine root causes of discrepancies between expected performance and actual: records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
• Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; managing performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.
• Keeps Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in front of associates to celebrate the successes.
• Develops and maintains a productive team through cross training, sound communication and motivational techniques.
• Performs other additional duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager or General Manager.

• Strong working knowledge of computers and MS Office Suite:  Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Education/Relevant Experience

• Degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Tools a plus.
• SAP and Logics experience a plus.
